The Floral Designer is responsible for providing a high standard of customer service, designing custom pieces, merchandising and displays, as well as maintenance of stock/inventory levels in the store.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Consistently create floral designs incorporating effective and innovative use of colors, floral materials, vessels and accent materials.
• Create and maintain seasonal planters using available supplies for everyday sales.
• Be aware and be responsible for planning for upcoming holidays.
• Meet and consistently maintain required standards of production.
• Check on shipment & delivery status. Receive merchandise. Maintain proper inventory levels.
• Keep accurate and updated files.
• Assist store and delivery associates with questions and concerns.
• Interact with customers and provide suggestions and recommendations for diverse needs.
• Successfully interpret clients' wishes on custom design orders and following up to ensure complete satisfaction.
• Actively work with management and marketing to promote and build floral department sales.
• Actively work with management and marketing to maintain and monitor promotional items.
• Work with marketing to keep floral pages on website current.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment at all times.

WAGE RANGE: $21 to $25 an hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two plus years of hands-on custom floral design experience in a floral shop or design studio.
• Ability to efficiently and professionally meet client needs. Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Flexible schedule and availability on weekends and public holidays as needed.
• Demonstrates proficiency with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office and POS.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently.
• Lift; carry and load 30 pounds (minimum) weight requirements.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with co-workers and customers.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
