Astilbe chinensis 'Vision in Red' has dark green, deeply incised foliage that sets off narrow branched panicles of fluffy, dark purplish-red blooms. Astilbe 'Vision in Red' blooms mid to late summer. Astilbe, sometimes called False Spirea, prefers rich moist, organic soil and is excellent for wet, shady areas.
